2010 in Review
This was a pretty big year for me. It’s hard to believe that so much happened in just a year. Here’s my list:
(Finally) graduated college.
Moved to New York.
Started working at blip.tv full time.
Appeared on NBC Nightly News, the BBC and a host of other press outlets.
Met almost everyone that works on HackCollege.
Traveled a bunch.
Here’s to an even more eventful 2011!...
Back of the Napkin Math
Unemployment is about 10%.
Percent of manufacturing jobs in U.S.: 11%.
Percent of manufacturing jobs in Germany: 25%.
Germany minus U.S.: 14%.
Curious. Probably completely misguided, too.

Up to $15 CPMs (net to you) at blip.tv

It’s the holiday season, and blip.tv is in the spirit. We’ve got shows using the blip.tv player right now that are making $15 CPMs. That’s $15 per one thousand video views. So release your new episodes in the blip player. Tweet, Facebook share, drive traffic. And get a check from blip in the new year to help support your show.
Hmm. I need a show.
Title Junk
I keep my hands in all sorts of business. Yesterday, Gruber wrote about “Title Junk” and those informed flipped out. It’s amazing how many people argue in defense of SEO these days.
SEO is simply an aberration of an imperfect system. The fact that many individuals make a living consulting and pontificating upon it is stupid. It will go away (I hope).

The Lonely Island Proves They are Smarter Than...
The Lonely Island (you know, Andy Samberg and crew) have a new album coming out soon. Know how I know? They released a new music video on Saturday. The track is titled “I Just Had Sex”. It doesn’t have the sneaky naughtiness of “Jizz in My Pants” and doesn’t quite match the over-the-top-ness of “I’m on a Boat,” but I’m sure the album will...

This week Annie chats with Tom Reynolds, blip’s producer relations manager. Tom enlightens the world as to what goes on behind the scenes of support at blip.tv. Annie also features the eponymous show Old Jews Telling Jokes.
Bonus: Kelly makes a quick appearance for a special announcement!
I make my debut in this week’s blip on blip!
Don't Leave It All Behind
My buddy Joey Daoud is in town getting his latest documentary (Bots High) colored at a post house here in NYC. It’s great to see guys like Joey hitting the pavement the old school way to get their projects done.
Over an incredibly caffeinated brunch with Joey, Annie and Teresa (and new girl Nancy!) this Sunday, Joey and I got chatting about how some people are quick to dismiss the Old Way...
Mike Hudack: blip.tv NY Holiday Party! →
annieisms:
Last Friday night we hosted a lovely holiday party for several hundred of blip’s friends and family in our New York office.
We had a s’more making station in the living room, and four (count ‘em, 4) beers were on tap in the kitchen. There was eve egg nog, apple cider, and hot…
Just went from zero to demo...
on a bizarre idea I had over Thanksgiving. It’s a concert visualization tool. Or a sports visualization tool. Essentially when you have a bunch of people in an area, you also have one gigantic screen. That’s all I’ll say for now.
I’ll be putting together a demo video in the next day or two and putting it online…

With things like IMDB, I’m surprised that credits are event shown any more at the end of TV shows. It’s likely an old union stipulation, but (1) no one watches credits and (2) they are often fast-forwarded through. It’s not very useful to keep them around. If people want to…
Not sure about this… I think credits are useful. We don’t know where the film will...
